Just a thought of mine..if u sprint habitually, would that lead to an increased performance? Curiousity kills =x. did i even spell that rigt? curiousity..

What is habitual sprinting?
BTW- since you asked, you didn’t spell “curiousity” correctly. In fact, you didn’t spell “right” right. :tumble:

o shooot lol CURIOSITY … RIGHT!?
habitual spriting is where u sprint continuously for a couple of days per week so that sprinting becomes a natural for you. For example, you just go down to the track and run as much as you want. Not too little and not too much, just enough for you. Then you repeat it for 3-4 days and recover for 3-4 days and repeat again. I heard that shawn crawford did something like this, im not very sure if its true but if u know something about this do tell =]

Up until One month before the olympic trials, Shawn Crawford was self-coached.
scary…
-
WHAT??:o:o:o:o:o
-
Can you elaborate on that, Big 10champ? What kind of things did he do to surprise the world?
-
I have no idea, that’s just what his new coach Trevor Graham said in an olympic interview. He ran for Clemson up until like 2001 and self-trained until Graham got a hold of him sometime in late May of this year.
pretty amazing
-
he must be naturally talented. without his own training and a short period of real coaching, he becomes the fastest 200m alive now.
-
Crawford was very fast in college. He was running world class times for several years prior to this one…..just not in high profile meets.

i went from 13.6 to 11.9 with that habitual running as u call it..
just run around the house and than time my 100 on wednsday…
 -
I really haven’t heard much about this “habitual sprinting” that you talk about. but it would seem to me that it wouldnt’ do you much good. if you went out everyday and just sprinted as much as you wanted to sprint, you’d never be recovered enough to get the quality out of the work. pretty soon it would all turn into speed endurace runs. also, not having at least a skeleton program is a clear cut way to get yourself injured.
if anyone has an info on this habitual sprinting method, send it along, but i can’t see how it makes much sense.
