I am a firm believer in the hang clean because I feel more athletes will achieve hip-extension with the lift than the full clean. Most the athletes that were taught full cleans are unable to do the double-pull necessary to get the hip extension. I was wondering if anyone had any pros/cons on the hang v. full clean, because I feel the full clean just allows for more weight when done right because of momentum development.
I think the hang clean is better for jumpers because it teaches impulse.
The full clean is better suited for a shot putter/thrower who needs to develop momentum and then apply force.
