when is the last time you guys do some heavy squats before a meet?
ißm thinking of 90%+

My feelings are,
For a major meet – 7-10 days
For an ordinary meet – 5 days
Depends on the event, the person, training age, prior training and the time of year. Could you be more specific? Is this for you?
I wouldn’t say “prefer” it but I’ve had some HJ/LJ/TJ guys hammer out some surprising jumps after dumping squats for 3-6 weeks. I usually at least keep heavy bench and some fairly heavy olympic movements (singles/doubles). I never thought it would work as well as it does (saying bye-bye to squats) but it certainly seems to.

I did a similar thing this past year and the success rate across the board was about 95%, meaning that the other 5% was probably something technical, personal or garbage. Although, you have to consider training age and at some point recycle and retest for strength and put the gas back in the tank.
We still kept in some single leg movements with lunges, step-ups and other variations but it is considerably lighter and faster. They were usually dumped about 2 weeks prior to big meet time.
