Are you anatomically balanced? I had scoliosis and leaned off to one side slightly, which in turn gave me an few months of injuries. I went to a place similar to Mike's HPC, but they also specialize in injury correction and they did some manipulations over a series of weeks and now I'm all good–injury free and running straight up.

wsgeneral, what kinds of exercises did you have to do? and did you have one hipflexor longer than the other?
thanks

It was more structual integration type stuff that they did. Now he has me doing a whole array of stuff, but that is really for performance.
-
structual integration , is like like cracking your bones? :puzzled:
what is the name of this type of doctor?
how much did it cost? -
Its a myofascial release type stuff along with something that a chiropractor may do. Cost was not cheap, but the same people "sponsor" me so I get it cheaper. I think baseline is like 120$ per session. Wher do you live, I can put you in contact with these fellows if you are around here. Their method is proprietary so I'm not certain if anyone else does the exact thing, but i'm certain other people have similar methods.

$120 per session? how many sessions did you have to go through to notice good results? And did they fix you to the point that you could do weight training especially squats, deadlifts, cleans? I'm in Oakland, California.
thanks

I went to 8 and I had absolutely no pain. I was able to do those lifts no prob the whole time without too much pain, my pain was mostly running related. We are pretty off topic here, so U2U me if you wanna know more.

mike, do you have any input?v How do these centers usually treat scoliosis? And FOr example, could I go to a few sessions a week for a few weeks and make drastic improvements so I can go less often afterwards, because my time is very tight, I need to get ready for my track season ASAP.

You would need to first know the cause of your scoliosis. In some mild cases it can be corrected simply through appropriate exercise protocols many of which can be done unsupervised. In more severe cases it may take other modalities and take considerably longer.
