Whats up guys,
I personally want to be able to train my legs as much as possible without risking overtraining. Right now I'm training for football so not only is a goal of mine speed (primarily) but overall leg strength/power is also very important. What would be the optimum way to train the legs? How many weight days/week? How many days on the track/week? Right now I work the upper body 2 times/week and hit the weight room for my legs twice a week, and also hit the track once a week. As far as weights go, I have one day for explosive lifts and one for max effort lifts.. both include 4 exercises, 3 sets of each. When I hit the track I generally just do 3 acceleration sprints and 3 full out sprints. (3 50m's for example and 3 100m's, and I generally try to increase the length of both every week).. Any suggestions as to how I can train most efficiently considering my goals of not only speed/explosiveness but power/strength?
