I’m 25 yrs old and have never run track, but I would like to increase my speed for touch football (only sport left for me at my age), and I love to train. I have very good top speed and an avg start, and have no problem running away from people on the field.
I’m 6’3 and a very lean 210lbs. I weight train every body part one day a week. I also do plyo’s with strength shoes 3 days a week and now I would like to add sprint training into my routine. I work at a very cardio entensive job but I have a very well planned and strict diet so the added activity will not be a problem from that angle.
I have no clue as to my max lifts, but the highest weight I use for 6 reps is 275lbs in the bench, 365lbs dead lift, and 405lbs in the squat (to 90 degree’s)
So what I need to know is should I add sprint training 3 days a week on the days I’m not doing plyo’s. Also what should I focus on and what would be the best things to do for my sprint training. thanks for any help you can give.
