Hi guys, this is my first post and I’m glad to be a part of these forums there seems to be a lot of really good information here!
Before anything else, yes i’ve done a search and read most of the threads pertaining anything to the 800m.
So anyways, I’m a senior in highschool and looking to run under 2 minutes in the 800m! My PR is a 2:03 from my junior year so I know the amount of work and dedication it’s gonna take to get sub 2 and I’m ready to do it.
I haven’t taken any supplements before though and I’ve been told by people that taking protein and creatine would help me recover faster and build stronger muscle. Which in turn will make me faster with some hard training. Is this true? Should I be taking supplements? And if so, then what would you recommend?
I’m also looking for some help on training. It is only my coach’s second year so he doesn’t really know how to help me much. He has me running general get-in-shape crap with the rest of the team and no special training for me. So I’m forced to run by myself after practice.
It’s very early in the season, actually still preseason but I can run a 2:20 right now. So any advice on a little training schedule and what I should be running to reach my goal would be awesome!
