I had blood screening recently to check out reasons for continuous sore throats/ tonsilitis over the past 6 months, continous fatigue and poor results from training and competition.
Blood tests showed iron levels at 4.6 when normal level range from 15 – 50 in normal circumstances.
Has anyone experience of such a thing in male athletes , ie, excerise enduced iron defiency. I have been advised to take oral iron supplements and Vitamin C ( Ferrograd C), but my research shows this could take 6 to 12 months to bring levels up. Any other solutions?
