So I started lifting pretty much in October, but just occasionally for my legs, mainly did running. Before that I would just do like leg press and hamstring curls for my legs. However, now I’m starting to do some lifting more related to track, like squats, dead lifts, cleans, snatches, lunges etc. But after reading through the forums I noticed that I have no idea what I’m doing. This is what I’ve been doing pretty much, 2 to 3 times a week.
3 x 6-8 squats or dead lifts
3 x8 lunges or straight leg dead lift
3 x 8 push press
3 x 6 clean or snatch
3 x 8 kettle bell swings
I’ll mix them up, doing different exercises each day. Anyone got any suggestions on what I should be doing? Indoor starts on the 30th, I’m planning to run the 55m in indoor, maybe the 200m, and the 100m in outdoor. Outdoor is probably my main concern, but I’d also like to do well in indoor. Currently I’m really weak too, I can only squat 95 pounds for 3 sets of 8, dead lift 125 pounds for 3 sets of 6, and clean like 65 pounds for 3 sets of 6. I’m 135 pounds if that helps and have a 12.16 PB hand timed and a 12.24 PB FAT in the 100m.
