Do you wear a special piece of apparel that you just can’t go to meets without? Everything from necklaces, to rings to even socks, tell of your lucky object that makes you feel like a winner.
Feel free to tell any stories invovling the charm tingermabober. :tumble:
For me, I wear this gold necklace that my dad gave me when I was younger. Whenever I take it off to play a sport, something bad always seems to happen. Ex, 3 years ago, I pulled a chest muscle from diving to catch a baseball; or 2 years ago, I nearly died when 3 guys tackled me at the same time in rugby. Therefore, I just keep it on all the time. Lol.

It's not so much a good luck charm as my OCD. Whenever I am racing or doing an important workout, my socks and shoes must match in brand, ALWAYS. It just happened once and now I can't stop. I do need luck every once and a while.

Nope, nothin lucky here. I did used to be superstitious about this one necklace I wore during races, but I forgot it one day and still won, so kinda stopped worrying about that.
Actually, me and my friend have a superstition that the last person into his blocks is the first one across the line, but thats more of a joke and a way to get into everyone else's head then anything else. Kinda funny if two guys are both trying to be the last one into blocks. -
From now on my lucky thing to do is not wear my watch. In the 3 races since I haven't worn my watch I've PBed huge in them all. I dropped my 200 time by .2 and then again by .1 and I dropped my 100 time by almost .2

I have this ritual before big competitions, it started with the nationals.
about a month before: shave bald as in total devotion to the sport, letting less
women "bother" you
on racing day: NEVER schave the face or you´ll loose the race (sounds better in
German) (wer rasiert verliert)
standing behind
the block: i kiss those things that hang on the gold chain around my neck.
how do you call that thing? it has a maria and an angel on it….
