    Mcmath’s 55m block start critique

          Hello guys, please take a look at my block starts and critique them. I have my first meet in three days and need advice as soon as possible. I filmed 5 starts, each with its slow-mo. My camera is a bit outdated, so if the video is not clear I can film a close-up.

          Some problems I noticed was getting up too early in some starts, and not enough leg extension during drive phase. I also don’t feel explosive enough coming out of the blocks. any thoughts or solutions?

          sorry for the weird music, I couldn’t get rid of the static camera noise so I audioswapped the sound

          Your running bent over thinking your ‘low’, when really your just not wasting all the force your trying to produce, you’re right about the leg extension, there is none basically.

          I have the same problems man, just had my start dissected – check my log man

          yea, I’m gonna try to correct some of the problems tonight. The problem is, I can’t just do full rear leg extension by thinking about it. if I force it, the start gets slower and I just look funny.
          could you explain some of the drills you did? like the piston drill? thanks!

          Hard to explain without visual demo … basically have one leg forcing down on the track, when you do extend the leg in order to push yourself up. The opposing leg shoudl do nothing basically
