ok, i have this extremely strange and uncomfortable injury in my right hamstring, sometimes i feel it at the top sometimes the bottom, sometimes the entire back part of my thigh. ive had it for almost a month now and it has hardly improved, now its worse cuz i ran a 100 on saturday which felt like each stride made it worse and worse. stupidly, i didnt drop out of the race and instead ran the entire thing all out. i had gone to a sports physician and he told me it was real strange because it doesnt hurt that much when i extend my hip with cable resistance yet when i stand up it hurts. but no matter what, any sprint puts it in extreme pain. he just diagnosed it as a normal hamstring pull (which i think is wrong because ive had plenty of those and this is very different) and is gonna put me on some ridiculous therapy of useless stretches. a friend of mine tells me i should get an MRI to find out whats really going on but im not sure if i should call the same doctor and tell him to authorize it because maybe it wont show up on the MRI and it wouldve been wasted. heres the question. should I get the MRI? will the actual injury show up on it? the Xray showed absolutely nothing.
MRI?
