Well yesterday I recorded my last four sprints of my acceleration day and this was these were the results: My mechanics have not improved, my knee lift looks too low, minimal frontside mechanics, and my turnover looks sooooooooooooo slow….Please give me some feedback…I will post the videos later

It looks pretty good to me. Where is 30m line in that video?.

How many strides do you take to complete 30m? & what are your 30m times?. Truthfully.

30m line is right beside the camera and my fastest times on average are around 3.9-4.0 I’m gonna post another video later but don’t laugh because I’m gonna have a dust mask on

It don’t look too bad, your a little low in the hips and posture.

You could do with working on heal recovery (dorsiflextion) along with front side mechanics.

Your accel looks decent enough but your not transitioning the hips high enough to allow you a step over and down action.

I would stop doing all out sprints and work 3/4 speed, practicing a transition with a higher projected hip and better heel recovery (less backside mechs) to allow a step over and down action.

My two pence, hope that helps ya though.

Thanks I have had people tell me that I run with my hips too low before but I don’t quite know how to fix it. Should I try to get more vertical with my stride or something?

Looks pretty good in general. Looks like you are probably at/near 11.2 speed?

          1. Do those with a 3 PT or blocks
          2. In transition – you will have an easier time getting your hips up if you are really emphasizing an acute shin angle through the first 20-30m.
          3. Biggest thing for fixing Hip position for me was working on hip mobility under load (ie – deep squats or deficit lunges).

I’m gonna post some sub-maximal runs this weekend with the emphasis on running tall. I hope I can open my 1st race with an 11.2 I am 3 years removed from high school and I had a pb of 10.7 so 11.2 now would be great.

I don’t think the extension/foreleg reach is suppose to be actively done. I have had too many hamstring injuries doing that.

I think he is referring to your leg extension at ground contact. You definitely don’t want to kick out your leg before ground contact. But your knee has such flexion your hips aren’t as high as they could be. Your knee height is also lacking, though I would say these videos look smoother than your others.

It shouldn’t be actively done, but you shouldn’t be so rigid hat it hampers the natural hinge action.

I don’t know what to say?? I don’t think I am doing it on purpose???

I don’t know why my hips are so low…Do you think I should record a video at medium intensity to determine if the problems with my hip height is actually just a perception or sprinting technique that I use when running all out
