“If you’re still intrigued, the neck injury is shooting pain down Peyton’s throwing arm. I have not, as yet, determined if this injury was exacerbated by the numerous hits Peyton took against the Texans last week.”Stampedeblue.com 2010Why did I focus on Peyton Manning’s neck injury so much when this is a Track and Field website? Well it’s also a sports performance website and that will mean

it would be quite a shame to see the best modern day qb (sorry Brado!)go away like this and his ortho/sports med stable should be proud of their place in the future of football folklore should this go any worse than it already has. How about an article on football proofing the cervical spine Carl?

I don’t know what you could do to bullet proof your cervical spine for football contact, but a good question is to wonder why surgery 2 didn’t work?

Love the blog pic. The greyhound does something similar.
Do you think it will ever catch on to human locomotion?. Store & release.
Maybe in 1000 years?.

Better question, why didn’t surgery 1 work.
I guess when I get out of this business and into teaching phys ed I will write a scandalous magazine article chronicling the professional sports teams health care blunders of the past 15+ years. Could be quite a (true) story. -
Jay Glazer reported on the NFL on Fox Pregame Show that Peyton Manning flew to Europe for stem cell treatment prior to his most recent neck surgery.
Stem cells — likely fat cells from his stomach — were placed in Manning’s neck in an attempt to accelerate nerve regeneration. This type of stem cell therapy is not available in America. The procedure must not have worked as hoped considering Manning still went under the knife for a third neck surgery. The stem cell treatment will not affect his recovery timetable. -
UTFootball,
Was the ARP really used? If so, ARP + Stem Cells < Neck Surgery.

I was joking mainly because many of the Colts players swear by ARP. I heard Manning mention in a preseason interview that his rehab program included "high frequency" he didn't go into detail.
