I run the 200, 400, 800. Mainly 400s. I was wondering waht would be the best spike for me, the powercat or the celar 3. Also, I have an average arched foot. Suggestions would really help me.

i have powercats and i would not run the 800 in them, maybe not even a 400 in them, they have a very stiff plate and are very good for the 100 and even the 200 but are not meant for the 800

dont use sprinter spikes in the 800…from self experience

I don’t think it makes too much difference, to be honest. Wear something that is comfortable. I have a pair of Zoom Shifts that I use for 400m and for training on any intervals over 100 that I absolutely love.

It’s all about what feels good for you. I would agree though, to avoid something with a full length spike plate for 800’s, as in the 800 you will be heel or flat foot striking the whole time and the sprint spike plate doesn’t have great traction for that.
