micheal johnson said it himself hes ready to kiss the record goodbye

…i dont think that bolt has the same talent as johnson (speed endurance)……bolt just has the raw speed that made this record that seemed impossible to break now in danger of falling

Although I said earlier that I didn’t think he’d have a chance at getting it, I think I may be eating my words now. The 9.69 alone doesn’t convince me but the way he ran 9.69- shutting it down at 80m did. I still don’t think it’s going to be a lock to get it though.

If he runs it to the line and doesnt look around anymore, he’s in the right position. However the 200m final being his 8th race will take its toll. Though the wind must be favourable, this time I dont think the raw speed will cut it, he needs some tailwind.

I got in arguement with one of my friends over it and I agree with Mike I don’t think it’s going to happen. I think Bolt will have to crush the turn to set up for it. He can run the turn in 9.69, and he’ll have to run the second part of that even faster, he’ll be rolling, but he can’t fade off that pace. I think 19.32 is a much tougher world record than the 100m world is, even at 9.69. When MJ ran that, he skipped decades. I won’t be surprised either way.

it could fall in the next few years but not at the olympics…

huh? My word, if he ran 9.69 on the bend, he would break 19 seconds…MJ never broke 10 in a 100m, certainly not in the first part of a 200m!

if bolt runs 9.90-10.00 on the bend, he could break the world record if he ran hard till the line…but i doubt he’ll do it these games…
