Bolt 19.30m into -.9w
I anxiously await Mike’s Blog on how Bolt is not human once more . . .
I think we are going to witness evolution at its best these next few years. I will jump on the 18 bandwagon as well.
Here is the video.
Bolt = out of space 🙂
damn i didnt make home on time for the final, so didnt get to watch it,
but -0.9w = 19.0x at +2.0????
and why was Wallace Spearmon Jr. Dqed?
Running out of his lane. I think Bolt running 19.30 after being a sub 9.69 100m sprinter shows just how impressive MJ’s WR was. It took a guy who could run 9.5’s to break it. Probably the most impressive WR in track along with the vault and tj record.
-0.9w
I said it before and I’ll say it again… eighteen
You know what is crazy, there isn’t any runner on this earth right now that can even challenge him at 200m or 100m distances. It isn’t a question of will he win anymore, it is the margin of victory he will choose to win by.
Haven’t seen the race (NBC are video feed nazis) but I’m looking forward to it. That time is ridiculous. I agree with drivephase….this just shows how out of sight that record was. It took a man with 9.5x speed to break it. Based off this time, I don’t think Bolt could break 44 without a running start right now. The residual isn’t in his favor. More specifically, MJ was presumably in about 9.9 low shape when he ran 19.32 and 43.49 at the 96 Games in ATL. If you plot that out and use something similar for Usain, he’d predict out considerably over 44.

It would be interested to find out if the wind was really as the reading indicates. If so, that makes the performance all that much more spectacular. With the 200m you never really know because the wind reading means MUCH less than it does on the 100m (where it’s already somewhat of a weak indicator of the actual wind).

Was just thinking…does this mean there’ll be no match race to see who’s the fastest man on earth?

I’ve watched it like 10 times in a row and can’t believe what I’m seeing.
He ran through the line! 🙂
Lets just pray Bolt doesnt turn out to be a doper (being caught that is, I believe they all dope).
o good god what could come from that

Maybe a 300m 1 on 1 race this time instead of 150? 😀 😀

Well that would be a new WR, I cannot see how Bolt would lose, but it would be close between Merritt, Wariner, and Bolt.

True that. Hey we might get to see Bolt contest the final sprint anyways against the best guy at it, im talking about bolt anchoring the jamaican 4×4 team vs. wariner on that final leg.
I think you could put 3 Bolt’s on the Jamaican team and they still wouldn’t beat our 4×4. I think he’s capable of going sub 43 but his 100m-200m times don’t indicate he can do it right now.

Wow. The interviewer who questioned Spearmon after the race has the least amount of tact I’ve ever seen.
Yeah, he has been terrible for the entire games. Horrible timing to some absolutely horrible questions.
“You ran in Walter Dix’s lane”…what a dumbass. I always thought you were ok unless you had 3 consecutive steps on the line. If I were Spearmon and Martina, I’d be pissed. I’ve almost never seen 200m DQ’s before except in FAR more blatant cases.

His reaction when Spearmon said he was protesting was even more startling.
He needs be removed from the track crew.
I feel bad for both of them. I was under the same assumption. Was it because their feet went partly over the line and into the other lanes?

It must be different for iaaf. Ato was saying indicating that when he stepped on the line he was DQ’d.
johnson slowed at the end and ran the 400 when he set the record….bolt ran through the line….impressive record
Get outta here…slowed down. Bolt ran into -0.9 wind. I believe Johnson had 2 full days of rest after the 400finals before the 200 semi&final;in 1996.

this track is a fast track down…and maybe relaxed would be better than slowed down
From what some announcers were saying the rule for the longest time was three consecutive contacts with the lane line (that was my understanding as well) but I guess in a very recent amendment it was changed to a single contact (if that is accurate or not I don’t know). Video that I have seen it looks like one contact at least was with his outside foot, not that it matters but by default that would mean most of his body needed to be in the next lane (either that or he was way crossed up).

I just read that Crawford sent his medal to Martina.
