    optimal amounts of plyos in an attempt to replace sprints…

          i'm trying to "replace" sprinting as best as i can for the next little while (can't sprint for a couple reasons.. won't go into detail)…

          Now obviously i won't be able to get the optimal effects that sprinting will give for gaining speed, but i was wondering how many ground contacts/week of plyos would i generally have to do to get as close as possible to replacing the lack of sprints in my program withut going overboard… ps i'd be doing olifts and weights aswell..

          Speedy,

          Can't really offer an answer, but I might make an observation and a suggestion. If you drastically increase plyos, especially if they are of the high impact variety, it may be very hard on your body, due to all the high intensity impacts. You'll have to be the judge of how much you can take.

          Have you considered Tabattas, including both weights and stationary bike Tabattas? Might help you with endurance as well.

          Stop when the jump of your heights drop.  (assuming you have full recoveries between your sets)

          thats kind of tough don't you think… i don't think i can really know how high i'm jumping during each plyo let alone dtermine when the heights drop…
