    Order of Operations w/in Micros

          Here's a question I got…

          I guess "rumor has it" you're supposed to plan each microcycle with your workouts going from most CNS intensive to least to make for the best possible workouts, correct? But, what if you switched it up a bit as I plan on doing? What if you went hard-med-hard/med (somewhere b/t) with tempo in b/t?

          Ex:

          Monday – Acc. Dev.
          Wednesday – Int. Tempo
          Friday – Hills or bleachers

          or

          Monday – MaxV
          Wednesday – Split Runs
          Friday – MaxV

          Does it really make a difference? I'd like to hear some thoughts.

          I think that works just fine. We have to remember that weeks are not units independent of one another. That is, just because the microcycle ends doesn't mean there isn't another microcycle immediately (or almost immediately) following it. If you distribute the workload appropriately and evenly throughout the MESOcycle and it shouldn't matter too much which specific days are used for whatever training stimulus.

          I never really heard that but i could see why you would do your most demanding first. first reason being because your fresh as is your CNS and second being that you'll have sufficent time to recovor if competeing. Right now i am doing it that way in Special Prep and precomp however this will change and it has in the past where during comp phase i like to do my special/speed endurance 1st and my accel max velocity work on second.

          I've heard that alot too 400Stud. But as for me and the way I do/create workouts, I am an advocate of mixing it up. In my opinion and experiences, I see nothing wrong with mixing it up as long as you distribute workload evenly and appropriately throughout the meso, as mike stated.

          Yeah, that's what I've did. I was just trying to get clarifying on the "right" way to do things as others say.
