    Please comment on this athlete???s technique. (Photo sequence)

          The photo sequence shows one of my heptathletes, Nicola throwing a PR of 35.09m in the javelin. She is only 15 years old, so I think 35 is decent, but I???d like to push her up to 40m. Her technique still has many flaws and I???d appreciate it if the experts could please comment and give some pointers.

          I'll have a go.

          1.  Throws off one leg.
          2.  Angle of Javelin changes, actually the wrist angle changes
          3. Doesn't get the bow on delivery.

          1 and 2 I would work on.

          IMO the 3 major flaws are:
          1. The athlete's hips are MUCH too high at right foot touchdown.
          2. The right knee should be more flexed at touchdown and should movement forward and downward after right foot touchdown to facilitate forward movement of the hips and upper body-lower body separation.
          3. The left leg should be straighter and further ahead of the hips at touchdown to set up a hinged moment (blocking of the lower body movement and acceleration of the upper body).

          You should work more on the core strength of your athlete. The line through the left side of the body should be straight when blocking, meaning more leg extension, fixating the hips. It is clearly visible that she stretches the left leg after throwing. This should be straight.
