    Popping the hip

          okay ….ur a big help mike…my tempo is better, i even coined a tempo word….."Baaa…naNA!" and it seems to help me when i say it to myself…..but im having trouble getting the hip pop to be a natural part of my spin….do u have any drills i can do to help with that?

          Stand in power position without an implement in your hand, grab either a bungee cord attached to an immovable object or a person's hand. Rotate from the ground up with the bungee or the person providing resistance to the rotation. The feet should be the first to rotate, then the hips should "pop," leaving the shoulders slightly trailing behind. The resistance applied is often helpful at teaching the sensations that an athlete should feel when doing it correctly.
