Powell Opens With 9.75 (+2.6) in Doha)

          Powell dropped a 9.75 (+2.6) in the heats at the Diamond League Doha meet. He ran 9.81 in the finals.

          For an off year, there have already been some great times. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds.

          I always like Powell and I reckon he is due a huge season. What a season ahead in the sprints. ? Tyson gay also running this weekend in the streets of Manchester UK. He is running 200 on the straight , attempting Tommie Smiths world best of 19.5.

          So far, I think the big three (Asafa, Tyson, and Usain) only have one head to head to head 100m scheduled this season, in Brussels.

          Still, these guys have all thrown down awesome times this year in different events:

          Asafa: 100m: 9.75
          Tyson: 400m: 44.89
          Usain: 200m: 19.56

          Only Tyson has run a great time outside of his comfy distance this year. I’m stoked for this season despite the lack of global medals to be won.

          I have the privilege of seeing Tyson run at Eugene this year and I am looking forward to it.

          After watching the races from Youtube I’d say he’s really powerful out of the blocks (especially in the heat) and he also seems to be running a bit higher than before. I bet he’s shortly getting to 9.6s.

          Norwegian Ndure nicely sub-10 and as Lemaitre already opened 10.09 it’s going to be a high level in European champs this year!
