          A comrade on another forum was requesting max powerclean to body weight ratios for any athletes people knew of, besides his list here. Any additions would be appreciated.

          I know Lappiere has done 110, Harry for one actually has a video so possible one of the only legit lifts. Edwards wasnt 72kg when he did 150. But seems like he did 132 at 72 according to his log. Just today actually, someone said they have seen Burny Surin lift, and his strong points wasnt his clean, it was his pressing. Olsson heavier than 73kg. Most of the other names i dont know.

          Also, are these guys taking their career best lift, then saying what their lightest, possibly competiton weight when they wouldnt be as strong. And how high or low do they catch is another point. I know a lifter in the commonwealths seeing athletes not even catch the weight and claiming a pb.

          Theres a vid of a lifter weighing about 76-77kg power cleaning 190, and he deffinately weighed that because it was just before weigh-in.

          I’ve been told Edwards managed to get 2.0 BW not 2.08 from someone who claims to have been involved with him in the weights room.

          Aikinees did 170k last year…good point about athletes weight..varies so much during career…we could think shawn crawford weights 165 lbs when he was about 20 more at his peak…

          Most of those weights from UK sprinters and hurdlers were from a presentation given by a coach over here on weight training in 2007. The PRs and weights were well researched at the time, so will have been accurate then.

          No way was Edwards 72kg. His best lifts were later in his career when he was bigger. All we see on paper was 132@72 or 73. Unless there are vids and they actually knew their weight when they did the lifts, i would be sceptical. To athletes it’s like asking the random gym go-er what do you bench.

          Alot of athletes have a boost of confidence when they have a good power to weight, so wouldnt surpise me if they fib about their weight. I go from 77-82kg in the year, obviously im stronger when im heavier. I could easily say my best power clean is X and im 77, but really i did it at 80-82. I know guys personally who do this.

          You know what im saying. People are probably taking in season body weight vs off season maxes.

          Note how I said UK sprinters and hurdlers.

          With my old coach, after 1RM testing we got on the scales. Thats how Im certain the athletes coached by him on that list have correct PR + body weight.

          Edwards was heavier than 72 when he cleaned he 150. I’ve had a lecture from the guy who was involved with his training at the time and knew his coach quite well.

          Harry Aikines-Aryeetey at 170 Kgs. Not sure what his bodyweight was, maybe 86 kg.

          We’ve all seen the Harry vid, he says 87 at the time.

          Just watched UK trials and he’s looking a lot smaller now…and slower?

          He ran 6.64 there last year, and 6.65 there this year. Compared to the year he ran 10.10, when he ran 6.70 I think.

          Ha likewise sir. Everyone has taken a step-up so it seems. Personally I can attribute that to a winters work without a single injury!
