          Have you tried the IIs?

 preach brotha, preach :flaming: and I highly recommended these to you since the beginning of your season, yet you got every other spike before trying the powersprint IIs. and they are great for the cuves dont let the name fool you ;). Easily the GOAT of sprint spikes. Strong on the straights, flexible enough to be comfotable around the curves, and still manages to be light weight. Like morpheus in my avatar says, ” Be strong, yet subtle”. Can’t wait to get the royal blue demolishers, royal blue is my teams color .

cobras, you misread my post, the navy/baby blue that you have are not a euro exclusive, but it think it’s a limited edition. The white/blue below is a european exclusive.

oh and could you say powersprint II> super shifts now ?

btw, did you try them with the pyramid spikes that they came with or X-mas trees. THe first time I tried them with pyramids and they were already amazing. Then I tried X-mas trees and it blew me away because it had much better grip.

i tried them with the original spikes it came with and they felt great, what size pyramids would be good for these spikes. o and no luck with ebay:mad:

I’m not getting those. I’m getting the blue demolishers with permanent spikes from a US online retailer, probably eastbay or vsathletics.

oooooo ok i got you, i was confused for a bit:yes: i need to find those spikes they look so good and they match my uniform perfectly

the royal demolishers match too, only drawback is permanent spikes, but that’s good for me because i hate changing spikes. :tumble:

once they wear down you have to throw away the shoe dont you

          swiftyer on May 8, 2005 at 3:56 am #45316

well usually, sprint spikes with permanent pins are engineered so that the pins can withstand alot more abuse and wear than the “normal” replaceable pin. Some permanent spike shoes like Mizuno Tokyos have spikes that are made of tungsten and are said to outlast the shoe itself.
Why would you throw them away? If you go big-time track hot-shot they would go for so much on EBay 😛

yeah, they’re made to be more durable, but I need to find out what shape spike they have first on the demolishers.

          swiftyer on May 8, 2005 at 4:56 am #45319

all permanent ones are pyramid I believe. They are the optimal shape for durability and weight savings.

Today I checked out my teammates Blue/chrome demolishers to find out that the spikes are actually removable. I think when the online descriptions say “permanent Z-spikes” they’re referring to the spikes that are part of the shoe. Also they look very flashy and intimidating so if you’re going to get the demolishers, make sure you have the speed to match it ;).

Mmm…just got my new Powersprints from Shoebacca. They were the ones with blue stripes instead of white stripes. Everything is perforated and the back is mesh. Very nice. The spikes are weird though, they look like Zs.

Maybe that’s what they mean by “Z-Spikes”. I never thought they would be actual Zs. Not sure if they’re removable or not, Shoebacca provided no wrench.

I ordered mine from shoebacca and mine came with a wrench….. if you dont have another wrench.. then I dunno what to tell you. maybe order one from vsathletics.com? and yes the powersprint IIs have removable spikes. The question was whether the demolishers have permanent or removable, which I found out to be yes. Online descriptions for track spikes can be confusing .

😯 good job man, now that I verified that the demolishers have removable pins, and theyre in your team colors, are you considering them? I’m thinking about using the powersprints for practice and the blue demolishers for the meets. one of the few royal blue spikes around.

Hey chosen, how do you know so much about spikes? You’re even based in the US and knew about the European exclusives.

lets just say I’ve always been a sneakerhead, i collect mostly jordans and other basketball kicks and it just carried over to track ;).but really I just do research… and I do own quite a few spikes so thats how I comment on performance.

Did someone tell you about those Euro exclusives, because I have not found them on the internet. I used Froogle UK, Froogle France, and that’s it (I only know English and French). Still haven’t found them. I would have them shipped over to the US if they weren’t 10x expensive, as a gift for a friend.

Maybe this would be better over PM, but how do you do your research on spikes? This is the only site (Thank God I found it, I was on myjjk for a while and that site is dead as far as spikes go) I’ve found that has a pretty good discussion group on spikes.

you research spikes by buying them and running with them, whether at a meet or practice or you can ask around this site. thats how i found out about the powersprints, took me a while to believe it but i love them

sorry I don’t remember the website about the white/blue powersprints, but I stumbled upon it on google.
