What do you think is the best supplement to take, if any, before a race? (Mostly sprints..maybe up to 1600/3200)

I recently bought Thermogen 2 efx and the guy said it would jack me up.

          Ingredients:

Yohimbe Bark Extract (Standardized to 10% Yohimbine = 50mg) 500 mg
          L-Tyrosine 250 mg
Guarana Extract (Fortified to 22% caffeine – 44mg)  200 mg
White Willow Bark Extract (Standardized to 15% salicin & esters) 100mg
          Caffeine 100 mg
          Cayenne 100 mg
          Siberian Ginseng 100 mg
Ginkgo Biloba 24/6 Extract 100 mg
          Ginger Root 100 mg

What do you think about the product? good/bad?

Doesn't look bad (depending on the price), but you could probably just get caffeine and tyrosine and be fine. I'd watch out for yohimbe as some people do not respond well to the product. BlackStarLabs is having a sale on their pre-workout supp GO! for $10/bottle, which is pretty fair.

guy gave me a deal $10..I was going to just get caffeine, but wasnt convinced that it would do the job

What have u heard about people responding to yohimbe?

I forget the side effects, but I guess most people do fine with alpha-yohimbine or whatever its called, but yohimbe extra can make some people feel like shit. There also doesn't seem to be much pre-race benefit in having it.

Straight caffiene would be a safe bet. In normal doses it's perfectly safe and has tons of proven ergogenic effects.

Oddly enough, someone died two days ago of caffiene overdose. I'd never heard of it before this guy but it turns out he consumed 15 no-doz tablets at one shot. The normal is 1 every 4 hours

Mike, do you know much about sodium and potassuim phosphates? From what I've read, they seem to work. Do you have any experience/knowledge regarding these supplements?
