Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the board. I was just at the 18th Annual WISTCA coaches clinic and had the pleasure of listening to one of Mike's presentations.
I am a college junior who was an exceptional sprinter in high school. PR in the 100 was a 10.9. So I know I used to be able to run. For all kinds of crazy reasons I wont get into, but I have not run in college yet. I still think that I have the natural speed to compete though, and make the team. All I need is to get back into track shape, I'm in good shape now (physical education major) but not really track shape.
I am going on my 3rd of year of coaching, so I have not been that far from the sport. So I was looking for some suggestions or maybe some workouts that some of you have used before.
Just for a little background on me, I have to hit the weight room pretty hard again, when I competed I weighed 165 lbs, I'm down to 150 now. I'm 5'8 so thats not really underweight, but you know. So if there is a supplement like protein or creatine that I should be taking, if you could give me a suggestion, that would be great.
As for my sprinting capabilities, like I said before, I was pretty quick in high school. If i had to guess, i think i would probably run an 11.5-11.9 right now in an open 100m. So if you could give me some suggestions on how to improve and get into shape, that would be great.
For facilities, my college that i go to UW Whitewater, we have an indoor 200m track, and a very nice weight room. NO outdoor track, but I coach at a high school that does have an outdoor track, so that is assessable.
Thank you for your time
