Would it be ok to replace ME squats with heavy sled pulls??? And then maybe tie in some walking lunges with the sled to simulate a single leg exercise.
Replacing Max Effort squats with heavy sled pulls???

Aren't the sled pulls single leg exercises? And because of this it wouldn't quite be an equal ME substitute (due to the balance / stability requirement). It's really hard to load heavy on sled pulls and not compromise the movement.
I think they could work fine but I'd personally rather do squats. Any reason you'd rather do the sled pulls over squat? Is it an equipment / facility issue or just a preference?

Not knocking it but you have room to pull a sled but not to squat? Seems odd.
Let us know how it goes…if you have a squat max I'd be interested to see how it holds up over the next month without the squats.

I was looking to use a sled, because the gym has been packed with people. More standing around than work going on.
The sled seems to be a good choice for the next 4 weeks.the only way i would do what u r doing is if i had a athlete that had a bw of 160 and full back squat 600lb and we were in a high volume speed phase – i would use the sled for strength maintenance.

The sled seems to be a good choice for the next 4 weeks.I would try both. Believe me I know what a gym packed with people is like. But once you can jump in and grab a rack, it's yours. Also consider going during a less crowded time. Remember the most effective training is usually not the most convenient.

The use of a sled would be at a different location. I will keep you updated in 4 weeks concerning how my max strength holds up. I am working with 2 other guys that are looking to complete a workout in 1hr. I am also toying with tie in some jump stretch banded speed squats "bodyweight only" and pullthroughs. I am looking at a strength speed/ speed strength type of workout. I think for the short term that my strength totals should be fine.

I like to keep an open mind in regards to everything. I am not claiming to know everything!!! When you ask a question you tend to lean to one side until some new information makes you think and possibly change your stance on things??? What's the problem with getting a feel of what others know in regards to a subject? I am greatful for the responses that I have received. Or at least the ones that are willing to share useful info. By the way, the question was whether Max squats could be replaced by heavy sled pulls?? The answer was no, but a person might be able to get away with it for a short time. With that info. I am willing to try this for a short time.
