I've felt flat in the last week when trying to do high speed work, almost as if I was being pulled back by something. It's very cold out but I'm not sure if it's also a drained nervous system.
This seems sort of unlikely to me since in good conditions I could probably run around 6.4 55m right now and have been doing a lot of my work at 2 tenths slower because its so cold so it doesn't seem as if I would have the ability to tax my nervous system that hard in the first place, and also because my diet is the same minus minor improvements, I'm sleeping well and feeling well rested, I'm feeling motivated to train most of the time, and my heart rate is steady in the morning.
On the other hand my school is around 20 kids away from being shut down each day because so many people have the flu and many are still walking around the halls with it. At home my brother has it. I know my immune system's strong so I'm not too worried about catching the flu, but I think that my immune system could be busy fighting the flu instead of exercise damage.
Do you guys think I should take a reduced volume week, or that it's probably just the cold weather that's giving me this feeling?
