I need spike shoes. And Im wondering which ones to buy. I would like shoes both for training (which is mostly on gravel) and competing. I have my eyes set on the Adidas Titan (but the only ones I can find on the net are LDs) shoes. What do yall think? They have to be cheap since I probably have to buy two pairs; one for training and one for competing.. Recommendations?

(Also consider that prices for isht here in Norway are HIIIGH. So when I say cheap; I mean cheap 😀 )

Just got home and got a pair of Zoom Superfly’s 😀 (size 9,5)

They are tight, though. They’re really squeezing my pinky toe. Are they supposed to be this tight?

Yoooo, can’t anybody answer that? 🙁 I just spent a 100$ on shoes and I dunno if they’re too tight or not. Are they supposed to squeeze on the outside, and will they widen out or something?

Are you wearing socks. Most spikes seem to be sized a little small as if they aren’t intended to be worn with socks. Also, remember that feet swell up to a 1/2 size in warm weather or after a warmup. So if they’re uncomfortably tight without the expansion it would probably be good to get a larger size.

They do feel a tiny bit uncomfortable, but shouldn’t I be able to walk them out our something? I mean, is it better to have shoes a bit too small or a bit too big?

I’ve tried with and without socks

id suggest going up a size. i wear my shoes a bit looser though.

if you’re talking about the superfly G5, those are fairly normal in terms of width, most of the other spikes i’ve tried are ridiculously narrow, yeah and consider going a half or full sz up.

          yeah i meant half size

They’re the “Zoom Superflys”, and the narrowness of the shoe is what’s bugging me.. I really have to get a bigger size? Cuz the guy where I bought them said they were supposed to be a bit uncomfortable at first or something, or was he wrong?

Today (this morning) they are not that uncomfortable though, they’re just tight as hell and slightly pressuring my pinky toe a bit

the ones with the lime green circles? those are the superfly P2. I have those and I hate them. They are too narrow. The superfly G5 on top is better because it has better fit, yet stays at about the same weight. I’d suggest you return them and get the G5 instead.

I traded in for a new pair. I gotta say they feel nice 😀 A bit narrow like you said, chosen1, but I’ll manage. 🙂

the p2s have great lockdown on the straight aways, also felt pretty good in the 200, i p.red during outdoor track with those on so i will love those shoes, first time i broke 24:cool:. g5s are really good but they wore out really fast for me, less than a season they are already messed up……….

did u trade for G5s, or a bigger size in the P2?
and cobras, i have a teammate whose G5s disassembled 😯 when he was in the middle of a race. The sole, just blew off…makes me skeptical about wearing them.

Sounds sweet! I’ll be looking forward to using them this sunday 😀 BTW, I train on gravel (horrible track where I live), so is there any way to get spikes that make it possible to use the shoes at gravel without messing up the shoes anything?

When I got a 40% discount of the Ps, I couldn’t trade them in for G5s of course. So I traded in for a bigger size on the P2s 🙂

dont ever use spikes on gravel. youre much better off using trainers on gravel or use spikes/barefoot on grass.

Yeah, I though so. I’ve used some old beat up “allround” spikes on gravel though. I just thought about adjusting a feel to the spikes before using them.

use flats on gravel over here i have the same problem our track is crap, terrible causes a lot of injuries but we have to deal with it. i suggest wearing flats if you want your spikes to keep in good condition

the type of surface takes a toll on your joints after a while which is why i run on the grass sometimes just to balance stuff out. it can mess up your knees, ankles and shins, its terrible, i run on it everyday and ive been complaining about shin injuries for two years
