i am working on my training plan for 400m sprinters. these are 16-18 year olds who will run the open 400, 4×400 and maybe the 4×200 or 4×100. the boy's are 51-54 and the girl's are 61-67. both genders have 2-3 years of hs training under their belt. my question is when should i mix split run's into their training program. practice starts march 5th and the big meets are in may. in the past i have waited until mid april to incorporate 2x250m+150m or 2x320m+3x60m sessions.
