    Strained hip flexor….use electricty?

          I just strained my right hip flexor last week possibly from not doing a proper cooldown. For the past few days Ive been going to get electrical stimulation on the hip flexor but mostly around the lower quad for 15-20 mins every day. Is this going to speed up recovery? And is it true that most hip flexor injuries come from something that happened to the quads?

          i think it helps relax the muscle, and if you add heat it will be an idle situation for healing.

          The effect of electrostim is highly dependent on what method they use. If the wrong method is used it could probably aggravate the injury. As for other recovery modalities, if the injury is still quite bad, try icing or hot/cold after working out and using heat before working out to ensure it is really warmed up. For supplements, glucosamine and glutamine and proteolytic enzymes (bromelain, papain, trypsin, chymotrypsin, etc) may be helpful.
