    Supplements for a High Jumper

          Hey all, I stumbled on this forum today, and saw that there are some knowledgeable people on here. I have a few questions regarding supplements, i don’t know if has been previously discussed…

          what supplements a High jumper should be taking?
          Are creatine/beta-alanine viable/recommended supplements for HJERs?

          Presently, I am taking a multi vit, and whey protein after lifting sessions. Supplementation and diet stuff has always scared me a little, b/c I do not want to gain much weight. I am currently 6’2 / 170lbs, so i’m probably on the heavier side for a high jumper as it is.

          My opinion is that supplements will not help you as much as you would like to believe. Compared to correct/smart training, and healty diet, supplements have very little effect.
          I cant see any reason to take anything other than multis and some fish oils to keep you and your joints healthy.

          Thanks for the response. I know supplements are not something thats going to have a huge impact on the outcome of a season, I agree that training structure is far more important. But, I do think that supplements can help you get more out of your training by aiding recovery. I guess i’m just interested to see what other jumpers are taking…
