Well this site has been so deserted in 2012. I have been a member for a few years now and have never noticed this site being as dead as it has been lately 🙁

I want to get another acceleration and max velocity technique thread started. Any comments?

Step over drive down has been very effective for me.

Didn’t feel like starting a new topic on this. The site is more dead than ever. Really, there hasn’t been a good discussion at all since summer. Half of the formely active members don’t post at all anymore. It’s all a bit sad :(.

I’d like to see more activity too.

I use a high knee progression as part of my warmup. Seems to help.

One thing I really liked from CST2 was the skip/run progression he taught in sprint drills. It really works for teaching the drive down aspect of top speed.

I like B skips as much as I had trouble doing it at first.

I’m not sure if it actually helps technique, but it feels that way.

I’ll work on bounding more when I get more serious with sprinting (don’t know when that’s going to be..)

From my current understanding, acceleration is about knee lifting, and top speed is about powerful hip hyperextension and being able to use more stretch shortening cycle, rather than active force production (not saying it’s not important, but not as much).

I really hope to work up to decent level with good routine one day then fine tune the forms and techinques.
