I ask this, because I live in Canada, and come October, after football season, I will be beginning my training for the 100M once again, I’ll have 5-6 Months to train, and wanted to start getting some ideas/ a program set-up, however since a couple of months will probably bring snow, and a month or two will bring rain, my actual sprinting time will be limited. Does anyone else have the problem of sprinting year round, and how would everyone suggest getting around this inconvenience, but still gaining good results. I’m prepared to do anything I have to do, I’ll probably have to sprint through the snow sometimes, but I want to get an idea of how to handle it.

Some options:
*Run stairs
*10-20m accelerations on a gym floor
*Aqua running
*Plyo work on a gym floor
*Towing / Resisted running on a gym floorELITETRACK Founder

Aqua running just refers to running workouts done in a pool. There are many ways to do it; the most popular of which involve running in deep water with a flotation belt and simulating the leg motion against the resistance of the water without touching the bottom of the pool or running in the shallow end and pushing off the ground.

Also if you can, use the halls at your school. I go to a tiny private school (819 enrolled K-12) and we have a hall that is in excess of 100m so you might consider trying that.

Good idea about the using a hallway, however at my school there isn’t really one long hallway. I think what I’m going to do is set-up a workout program including maninly lifting, some plyos.. work on my flexibility/core stength as well as form. Do a lot of stairs at my school (if anyone has an idea as to what type of stair work I should be doing that would be great) and outside of that, maybe sprint in the snow, we’ll see how that works out. Thanks for all the advice guys.
