    training phases

          whats the focus in each of these phases??

          1- gpp
          2- special prep
          3- pre-comp
          4- peak comp

          gpp–General fitness, getting used to training again, and getting your body ready for intensive training
          Spp–training focusing on your event, such as acceleration and top end speed for the 100, or speed endurance for the 400.
          pre-comp–this one I'm not so clear on
          peak–mike can explain better then me.

          i would say

          gpp- general fitness
          spp- some general fitness with more focus on your event
          precomp- training really hard at your events
          comp- running as fast as you possibly can
