I just purchased this and it’s the worst track & field DVD I have ever seen. If anyone buys this, I will fight you. That is all.

Terry Lomax has been coaching for over 32 years and has developed into one of the best jumps coaches in the UK earning him a coaching spot on two Olympic Track and Field Teams. In this video Coach Lomax shares with you his fundamental triple jump skills and triple jump drills.. Lomax includes several proven progressions to help your athletes jump higher and further than they ever have before. He starts with basic continuous warm-up drills that include jogging skipping hoping directional lunges and body movement exercises to help reduce the chances of injury during practice and meets. Lomax’s teaching principles focus on good posture and rhythm and he shows several strategies for all levels of track to keep your athletes bounding and jumping Tall. The video will provide you with several new triple jump drills that work on the three phases of the jump and how to correct common errors by young jumpers. Coach Lomax and his drill series make this a must see video for all coaches.
I assume you read this before you got it?
Seems kinda shit just from this write up…What was so bad about it?

The video is 40minutes. The breakdown is about:
20minutes of generic warmup (jogging, a-skips, carioca, arm swings).
3minutes of 123jump and skips.
7minutes of triple jump specific drills.
8minutes on how to get your approach by getting a starting mark, running 18 steps, also a coach’s mark.
3minutes of credits.I always said you can learn one thing from any book or video. I’m thinking I’m wrong now. No unique drills, no good explanation of any drill. Terrible.

wow i’m sorry that does seem really bad…Did you spend 30 UK pounds on it as well? ? ? ?hope not…
Amazing really becuase Larry and Gregoire’s video is so old in comparison yet i thought the video was really great…

I looked into buying that a while back, was fortunately detered due to 2 key factors….The site i first seen it on had a small taster that seemed pretty weak and then the price..
I dont know much about Terry Lomax as a coach, he was based at Loughbrough, ive heard that he is no longer based there and has moved back to New Zealand.
Is there any other Triple jump Videos/Books that anyone would recommend?Ive been reading 3 British Books- Triple Jump 1968 Edition, 1986 Edition, 1996 Edition.By Tom McNaB with the final two additions been produced by Malcolm Arnold.

The taster is the best part of the video!
How are those 3 British books? For triple jump, I liked the Dick Booth/Mike Conley video the best and also The Triple Jump Encyclopedia book(book a bit old school). Boo also has some good videos. I liked his triple jump DVD(LSU guy jumping on the cover) and also his TJ video on athleticscoaching.ca (great basics & teaching info).

The taster is the best part of the video!
HaHa!
Ive found them useful.
Ive been triple jumping for a number of years on and off, but never really read much or researched until maybe two years ago. So i loaned the 1986 edition from the Local library, which lead me to google a few things and thats when i came across Elite Track so i cant complain the books have been good. I think they are all a good base of knowledge containing nothing ground breaking.
They all contain History of the triple jump, rules, technical fundamentals, coaching points, drills and a break down of the requirements of a Triple jumper.
No indepth science analysis just solid coaching knowledge.
As you can probably imagine some of the information is a bit old schoolGiven the option to choose i would go with the books over
‘Triple Jump Drills: The Best of British Track & Field’!
