Last year was my first year running the 100m(i was a soph in highschool) before that i did track once in 6th grade the first invitational of the season(i go by invitationals since they have better timers)i ran a 12.02 the second i ran 11.96
and my pb at our regionals was around an 11.75(fat time) and my pb in the 200 is 24.80 i have 2 questions 1.are my 100 times good for someone with no technique and little weight training
2.Why do i not run the 200 as good as people who are slower than me?i think its cause i use all my energy to make up the stagger in the first 100 and my second 100 becomes very lackluster

          thankyou

i believe if u work very hard u will be able to achive that goal. I no sum 1 who ran 12.02 last year and this year he ran 10.94 FAT. from the sounds of it u have natural speed if u dont train that much or lift weights. If u trained u could be pretty good

I'd say it's possible to attain your goals. My only thing is that you really have to work hard and want it, and that includes lots of sacrifices among other things. Your 100m time is great for someone who doesn't have great technique and doesn't lift weights. Heck, my pb is only 11.87 and that's after 3 years of training, no weight training, and an OK technique.

As for your 200m time, you really need to address speed endurance there. I go out hard myself and make up the stagger in the curve and am still able to run 23.91, low 24's consistently. It's all about speed endurance and energy distribution. Going out 100% and then maintaining in a 200m is not the most effective way to run, but for some it works. One thing you can try is going out hard for 30-40m, maintaining throughout the curve and when you transition off the curve, accelerate again and maintain any and all speed you built up to the best of your abilities. It's worth a try.
