          if you go here (https://www.charliefrancis.com/board/philboard_read.asp?id=503)
a prominent authority seems to be suggesting that most multivitamins are a waste….

some good people (about 3-4) have suggested 1-step by High Performance Fitness. I actually like the stuff.

          my questions are:
          1) how do you know that the multi-vitamin you're using is any good

2)what makes HPF better than most?

Why I use HPF liquid vitamin over USANA currently.

          (1) Both the USANA and One Step HPF products are excellent.

          (2) Both contain what is on the label….I know someone who tests various drugs and he states very clearly that most vitamin mineral products suck, and do not contain active sources or values.

          (3) HPF is not as expensive.

          (4) With all the supplements people take, any chance not to take pills is great. A shot of cranberry juice laced with vitamins and minerals is not hard to swallow!

          (5) The vitamin supports the diet, it does not replace real food, so arguing who has a better vitamin is pointless, so spending huge dollars is not worth it.

          (6) Experts show that most vitamin/mineral products have calcium binders that inhibit absorption. HPF has very little calcium so that the product can be absorbed.

          (7) I am from the evolutionary metaphysical tract, so I feel that the body can absorb MANY micronutrients at the same time without trouble. I doubt paleolithic man was adjusting his meals to ensure absorption. The argeument is that you must do this at this time has merit, but the body is far smarter then the biochemsits that design the poducts. You will not see me advocate individual prescriptions unless you are sub-10.

Just to weigh in on the other side, I saw better results from Usana then HPF after looking back at both and am now using Usana again. I think one of the main reasons is my diet is less than perfect in that I eat tons of fruit, but not too many veggies since I can't always find too many that I like and because I eat meat from Costco and Shoprite instead of grassfed farms so I'm probably missing out on a lot of nutrients that way. I am working on both of those and then maybe when they're fixed I'll switch to HPF since its less expensive.

Pete makes a great point about adjusting your supplementation based on real food sources. Again I support the HPF as insurance, not as the backbone of a diet.

One thing about blood work…do not get it done at a hospital, get it from a diagnostic clinic! What should have been a hundread dollars became $700.00 when done inhouse. Allways get the cost first and pay in advance to ensure you are not hit with a bill that is boarderline rip-off.

I am getting back into antioxidents after listening to a major player. What is interesting is that his program incorporates patterns of various support systems such as ACE vitamins and phytochemicals. I was under the impression that you want to have the levels constant, but he was explaining how variance works very well…I hope I can understand it later after emailing a few questions.
