In the past we had a few famous runners who never touched a weight but did only bounchingtechniques, thats what lydiard's book tells us and his "poulain" Peter Snell was his living example.
1.44.3 in 1960 on a grassfield and at least two Olympic titles. Are we missing some point, that this is maybe an interesting question. He's not passing in our frame of overall speedtraining, many resistancework, but just the opposite lots of endurance.
I saw Alan Webb in our little village where he run a new American Mile record in 3.46 and i observed his warm up 1 hr before and especialy his coolingdown of two hours, with lots of 400's in 18km /hr. We were all amassed that this guy had just broke a milerecord and was still training.
