    what kind of tempo for summer sprinting

          I just got a quick easy question- What type of tempo should I be doin over ths ummer for a summer training type of deal? I’m pretty sure I should be doing intensive tempo, but I just want to be sure.

          I was thinking intensive to build the anaerobic base, since I havn’t really done much sprinting work in about a year.

          wouldn’t you want some intensive, assuming you’d have ample recovery time after the summer before the season starts?

          he never stated his events, so i dont know for sure. i would use intensive tempo sparingly, unless youre a longer sprinter. doing normal speed work would be more beneficial for him i think.

          to be perfectly honest, not sure exactly what events I’ll be doing. I know I’ll be doing a 200 for sure, but I don’t know if I’ll be doing 100/200 or 200/400.
          There is no indoor season for me.
          I’ve been training as an 800 runner (they wanted to try me out at it, didn’t work, so I’m going back to what I enjoy doing. IE, sprinting), so my fast twitch fibers aren’t what they should be at all, which is why I wanted to do intensive tempo. But I guess it would make more sense to do extensive tempo days interspersed with accel days, wouldn’t it?

          yup, or accel days interspersed with extensive tempo;). if you decide to do the 400, a meso with intensive tempo could be appropriate.

          I’m hopin not to do the 400 actually. I like sprinting because I can push myself as hard as I possibly can without worrying about it, unlike say, the 400 where I have to hold back and run pace. I don’t like running pace, hehe.
