check out this article from the site.

A few pages down has a huge page of times that could help you out and are pretty accurate in my trials.

Well, for me, i've found the hand times to be really rough in the article when you just use one of your times. So I take the average of my runs and then look at the chart and that usually gets me closer to it.
The 100m to 200 m equivilency is within .05 for me.
If you are able to hit that fast of a top speed, but are running slower than what it says, it could be a few things. Your acceleration may be sub par and it is taking you too long to hit that top speed. You may need more speed endurance work so you can hold onto that speed longer. Or the guy with the stopwatch timing you may have an itchy trigger finger ๐

Big M, are you the same Big M from the ARR board?

That's odd, according to that article my time for the first 30m puts me on pace for a 10.8 FAT 100 time, which is something I havent even come close to for that race. Does that suggest I need to work on my MaxV or my Speed Endurance?
This could be due to a number of things. If the method of timing you use is inaccurate (hand time for example) that could easily account for the differential. Also, and perhaps more importantly, any training norms (such as these charts) are made for general consumption and won't fit everyone. They can however be used as a good tool to assess one's strengths and weaknesses. In your case if your method of timing is accurate this would mean you need some serious development in top end speed.

Thanks for the advice Mike. I'm sure the timing is accurate, because in handtimes for the first 30m I consistently get in the 3.90 – 3.95 range, and that is blazing compared to what I actually finish with in the 100m. My fastest time is 11.5 ht, so top speed it is.
