What supplements does everybody on here use or have there athletes use.

I am presently using Glutamine and ZMA. Id like to get a multi vitamin but i dont think those cheap ones that you get at the grocery store will cut it.. what multi vitamins are good and worth the money?

Top 5 in no particular order:
          1. Glutamine
          2. Creatine
          3. Multi-vitamin
          4. ZMA or some non-commercially formultated blend of zinc and magnesium
          5. EFA

The effacacy of all of these are well supported by research. This list was also made on the assumption that none of the macronutrients (esp. protein) are deficient in any way.

What is EFA? and what multi vitamin do you recomend?

          EFA = essential fatty acids

When I take them at all I either take a twinlab or GNC multi but I often don’t take them as I get more than enough in minerals and vitamins from my 1-2 meal replacement bars / shakes a day. Also, I’m not training for the Olympics so lesser brands are fine for me, especially since I already eat very well. I have however heard excellent things about Usana and some of the liquid multi vitamins.

I just finished my first bottle of High Performance Fitness multi (15 days worth). I probably can’t be a fair judge after this much time, but I think I like Usana a lot better which I tried last month for a whole month. This might have to do with the fact I don’t take ZMA I don’t know.

top 5 for me in no real order:

          surge
          zma
          1 step multi
          power drive
          gpush G1

i also take udo’s and proscore 100 (a whey powder from champion) but i dont look at protein powders or efas supplements, i see them more as regular grocerys.

          Mike,

Your right. USANA and HPF are great products. I like HPF liquid vitamin over USANA currently because my athletes take ZMA, bromelain, jointfuel, ect. Too many pills…a shot of cranberry flavored vitamin is a nice change from the pill swallowing.

          Mikhail,

Shhhh. That stuff is free….we can’t bottle that stuff. Wait a minute they bottle water now! I should get on the oxygen bandwagon like the air bars in LA but start bottling Air. Soon I will by Airafina and Sleep Springs at vending machines.

I was trying to figure out what you are trying to say by that for about 2 hours. plzzzzzzzzzz simplify

I think what coach Valle is saying is that we tend to focus on ways that can come in a bottle or pill. Simple ways like getting enough sleep and eating a balanced diet is not marketable since it isn’t radical.

ok, i c thx, its just that some people focus more on things like suplements and forget about getting enough sleep and H2O, which is really hard on your body.

          1. cyclo-z-mass by cytodyne
          2. glutamine
          3. now zma
          4. creatine monohydrate(i dont respond well to creatine, its ineffective when i use it)
