Well it’d be kinda pointless saying anybody but Usain Bolt has the best technique, since even if he doesn’t he’s still faster, so he’s obviously doing it right.

However, I will say that aesthetically I prefer Asafa Powell’s drive acceleration and Tyson Gay’s max velocity mechanics.

I feel the same way…Bolt does have great max velocity and he maintains the(4)position of his legs better than anyone else…He seems to keep the legs at that close angle the longest before foot strike…Most of his counterparts open open earlier…

I would say best ever sprinting technique would be maurice greene. Great drive phase and very good and smooth top speed. If were talking about now, i would say Asafa’s start with Tyson’s top speed. Bolt sways to the side a little bit too much for my liking but nonetheless very good technique!

Asafa, in Rieti 2007 to me is a good example of great technique (see 9.74 and 9.77 runs)
multiple angles available, great start and accel as always, nice relaxation and max v mechanics IMO…
if he hadn’t eased off that much somewhere around 70-80m when he ran 9.74,that was easily a 9.6X run

for those who haven’t seen it yet, enjoy!

What do you believe to be the reasons/factors on why Asafa hasn’t built on that time since 2007?.

Murice did have a great acceleration phase…I would totally agree with you on asafa and gay

only him and his coach could really tell I guess, it could be because of so many different factors.
          He ran a 9.72 in 2008 after that and a few 9.7x as well since…why no 9.6x yet ? I’m still wondering

Could it have been an increase in bodyweight & a drop in relative strength?.

He seemed to put on some mass?.
