Why was congress having a hearing on drug use in baseball? I did not watch it, I was traveling all day, I would not have watched it if had been home. The commentary that I heard on the News Hour last night made it sound like a soap opera, which it is. I could not but help but think that with all the issues that we have in our country today, why is congress wasting their time on this. Don’t
Why?

I totally agree its stupid that our gov don’t have better things to do but to waste time on roids and spy gate. The sad thing about this is the gov really don’t care but is during it for there benefit. Most of the questions the gov asked clemens was soo stupid and it seem like an autograph session etc, esp when you have people in there position asking “which jersey he will wear to the hall fame or Mr. Clemens you going to heaven”.

Because Steroids are illegal….besides Baseball wasn’t doing much about it anyway, someone has to.
i dont care if roids are illegal, our gov should have better things to do then this and stop wasting tax payers money. Shyt go get the real drug dealers/users.

Then who else is going to fix the problem cuz Selig sure isnt.
the gov isnt gonna fix the problem either, they are doing it to help there parties etc. its funny bc yesterday the rep were pulling for clemens and dom were pulling for brian.

i believe major league baseball is exempt from antitrust laws. if they want to keep that status they better clean up their act or congress will. mlb had their chance and they turned a blind eye to ped’s. now they will pay the price.
WHATEVER!

I don’t understand how the parties were for and against Clemens it doesn’t make any sense…

Just heard on CNN that it will cost over $1M to do the trial AND the guy who set it off (Mitchell) doesn’t even think charges should be brought against Clemens. It’s always nice to know that despite being in a recession, some Congressmen think it’s necessary to live out their boyhood dreams of meeting / beating pro athletes. Part of me likes the fact that these guys are being brought to task but it would seem there’s a better way to do it than to make reality tv du jour.
