    XC and hurdling

          i havent been doing hurdling for a year now. do u guys think I should just focus on my hurdling technique during the fall, or join XC and do hurdling drills after XC?

          i mean im no expert or any thing, but me, im going to forgo cross country and just train for indoor

          I ran cross country for 1 year in high school, and my entire motivation was to get better for the hurdles. I worked on hurdles all summer, ran cross in the fall and as soon as cross finished, I was doing hurdles again in November. Cross gave me a great base to take into the track season. Moreover, it made me a lot stronger mentally. I finished 5th in the state that year and I hadn’t even qualified for state finals the year before. I also broke the school records in both hurdle races that year. Cross country helped me a lot and I would definately recommend it.

          If you’re a high hurdler you’d probably be better off to not do XC. You’d be much better off doing pre-season hurdle work or even football. If you’re predominately a 400H than it may be of more benefit.

          I did XC to get in shape for the 400mH… i would only do it again if it was modified much more than it was. Don’t even bother if its for high hurdles.
