Wow. I am shocked. Yohan Blake won the Jamacian Trials 100m in 9.75 WL to beat Bolt(9.86).What impressed me most was the way Blake ran by Bolt, which no one has ever done in the 100m. This surely changes things for London.

You don’t run a 19.26 without being able to go 9.7x or faster. The only thing I’m surprised at is that Powell still ran a 9.8 with how horrible he looked 70-100

With better reaction time from Bolt I doubt Blake can beat him again.

Powell walked off with some assistance after the race. He looks hurt thus the last 30. His split to 40-50m he looks amazing; as he becomes more upright something goes ary and he veers to the left and almost out of his lane. May never know what happened there, but I’d imagine that’s going to hurt what could have been int he olympics for him. We’ll see.

This has Shelly Ann’s 10.70 as well plus shots of Bolt, Blake, and Powell after the race (with his arms on some ladies shoulders walking off)

I’d love to see the top end speed splits for Blake and Bolt. I would guess they are among the highest ever recorded.

And Blake beats Bolt in the 200 as well.

Racers Track Club put on a hell of a show at the championships!

Yeah, it looked more like he fell apart. Great race by Blake but Bolt looks bad right now!

i think it’s more of a motivational thing with bolt & blake. blake was massively fired up to beat bolt as he would have wanted to show that he’s the man and winning the Jamaican trials would be a huge thing for him. bolt on the other hand is already the world record holder, olympic and world champion in both events and so i don’t think winning the jamaican champs would have been much of an incentive for him. the only incentive he had was qualifying for the olympics and he did. i might be wrong but i think people are reading too much into some of his below par performances recently and i still think that come the olympics he will win both events and run close to world records in both (depending on weather)

Glenn mills stated that Blake stayed and trained more then Bolt and didnt go to Europe. Remember Bolt is one of the highest paid athletes in all sports. So he is running more bc his fee to run is up there. We will find out the true verdict come London. But man, this is going to be a good group of races to see.

Time will tell what happens in London. But I can’t help feeling reminded of this thread:
