    We’re Back. Sort of.

We’re back on line. Sort of. Sorry for the delay. I thought I could have things off line for just a day or two but it turned in to a week. And then 10 days. I knew we needed to get back up and running quickly but the migration of the site was more complicated than I expected. The combination of migrating (think translating to a new language) 10 years of blog, article and forum activity, ratings, views and links from one content management system to another proved quite difficult and still isn’t completely worked out. With a site like this, it’s especially important that internal linking works well and we had some problems with that and still haven’t completely straightened all the issues. There are 3 especially important notes during this early transition:

    1. If you have an account for the forum, you’ll need to reset your password. There was simply no way of migrating encrypted passwords to the new system. To do this, just click on the link in the login box to reset your password.
    2. We now have Facebook login integration….meaning you can login with your facebook account. If you have an old account, you’ll want to link up your Facebook account with your existing account in your control panel. If you’re creating a completely new account, you can do this by just clicking on the facebook login button.
    3. I haven’t straightened out commenting on blog posts in the forum yet so you may find quite a few broken links and / or unexpected functionality until I do. Just be patient….we’re working on it.

This move will definitely be for the better but I ask your patience while we work some kinks out in the migration process and slowly add back the functionality and features we had on the old version and update with lots of new features.

If you find any bugs or have any particular feature requests please post them in the forum topic associated with this post.
